Peter Droussiotis: Founding Director

Prior to founding PGD Strategy in 1999, Peter served as a Corporate Finance Director with Price Waterhouse, now PwC, specialising in strategy consulting and mergers and acquisitions in the financial services and insurance sectors.
He previously held senior positions as Group Corporate Development Director and a member of the Senior Management Group at the Minet Group, now part of Aon, a global insurance broking and risk advisory organisation, with responsibility for corporate finance activities worldwide. He also served as a senior legal adviser to the Minet Group specialising in transactional work and as a director of several principal Minet subsidiaries. Peter’s experience includes positions as a senior corporate finance executive with Credit Suisse’s stockbroking arm in London and as an employed barrister at Lloyd’s of London. Peter has managed an investment budget in excess of £250m and has personally completed numerous domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions of varying sizes involving hundreds of millions of pounds of capital expenditure; he has also been a pivotal member of teams engaged in multi-billion pound, complex cross-border deals. He has previously served for a period of four years as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Sequel Business Solutions Ltd, the City-based premier insurance and reinsurance sector software specialist provider which was sold to Verisk by HG Capital in September 2017 for £250m. He currently serves as Non-Executive Chairman of Guernsey-headquartered Heritage Group, a leading independent provider of specialist insurance and financial services to clients around the world.
Peter has an LL.B (Law & Politics) Honours degree from the University of Birmingham and is a barrister by training.
He is also Chairman of the UK-Cyprus Enterprise Council, a voluntary strategic body promoting trade between the UK and Cyprus, which he helped found in December 2013, and had been Chairman of the Friends of Albert Road Recreation Ground, an award-winning sports and tennis facility in North London, from 2001 to 2016. He previously served in an elected voluntary capacity as President of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK, representing the largest Cypriot diaspora, for 8 years, until his term expired in June 2015. Peter is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA) and speaks Greek.
